Description
The Whirlpool WP8318084 Lid Switch Assembly for Washer detects the lid position and supports proper washer operation during active cycles. This replacement assembly works with the washer’s control system by sensing whether the lid is closed and signaling the appliance accordingly. When the lid is properly closed, the switch allows the washer to proceed with functions such as agitation and spinning, depending on the model. A properly functioning switch also supports the washer’s built-in safety operation by preventing certain functions when the lid is open. Replacing a worn, damaged, or faulty assembly can restore normal cycle operation when the washer does not start, agitate, or spin correctly. Designed for compatible washer models, this part offers a practical solution for reliable everyday laundry performance.
