Description
The Whirlpool WPW10225581 Bimetal Defrost Thermostat helps regulate the refrigerator’s defrost cycle to prevent excessive frost buildup. This replacement thermostat monitors the temperature around the evaporator area and responds to temperature changes by opening or closing the electrical circuit for the defrost heater. When conditions reach the appropriate range, it helps control heater operation during the automatic defrost cycle. Proper thermostat function supports effective frost removal while preventing unnecessary heating. Replacing a faulty or damaged thermostat can restore normal defrost operation when frost accumulates excessively or cooling performance is affected. Designed for compatible refrigerator models, this part provides a practical solution for maintaining proper defrost control, airflow, and reliable everyday cooling performance.
