Whirlpool WPW10392132 Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat

The Whirlpool WPW10392132 Defrost Bi-Metal Thermostat regulates the defrost cycle in compatible refrigerators by responding to temperature changes around the evaporator. This component acts as a temperature-sensitive switch, opening or closing its electrical contacts at specified temperatures to control power to the defrost heater. Its function supports frost removal from the evaporator while helping prevent excessive heating during the defrost cycle. A faulty thermostat may contribute to frost buildup, cooling problems, or irregular defrost performance. Replacing a defective unit can restore temperature-based defrost control and support consistent refrigerator cooling. This replacement part is intended for compatible refrigerator models requiring a defrost bi-metal thermostat.
